Thanks for coming along to the Challenge of Sustainability 2008 and making the day a success! The conference drew over 60 attendees and we are already looking forward to the Challenge of Sustainability 2009. Thanks especially to our speakers, sponsors and organisers.

A registration form for The Challenge of Sustainability is now online. Regular registration will be Euro 50 (with discounts). This can of course be paid by cash or cheque on arrival in DkIT.

Those attendees who may be looking for a car-share to Dundalk can feel free to post offers of or requests for transport below. No responsibility at all is taken by the organisers for these arrangements but we will do our best to monitor all posts!

The Challenge of Sustainability will now take place over one main day on Friday June 20th. More information will be available over the next two weeks, i.e. programme, registration fees and so forth. For consideration as a speaker or poster presenter, please email abstracts to abstracts@allislandenergy.org as soon as possible. Decisions about participation will be made on the basis of abstracts, so please ensure that sufficient detail is included. There is no fixed limit on abstract length, but a minimum length of 500 words is recommended. Full papers are accepted at this stage. Abstracts and papers can be submitted as MS Word or Abobe PDF documents.
Successful applicants will be notified very soon.

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), Thursday 19th and Friday 20th June 2008
Call for Expressions of Interest
The Cross Border Sustainable Energy Partnership is pleased to announce The Challenge of Sustainability Conference 2008. This exciting two-day event will be hosted by Dundalk Institute of Technology on the 19th and 20th of June 2008.
The Challenge of Sustainability will explore how academic institutes can take part in implementing practical solutions for a sustainable and secure future. Participants will be encouraged to relate their ideas to the Eastern Corridor, the geographic region stretching south from Dundalk to Dublin and north from Dundalk to Belfast. The conference will be addressed by distinguished keynote speakers.
You can contribute to The Challenge of Sustainability by presenting a paper on relevant business, policy and technical topics. Presenters will be expected to place their work in the broader context of the conference mission, i.e. how academic institutes can take part in implementing practical solutions for a sustainable and secure future.
Papers will be accepted for either poster or oral presentation.
